Comfort

I love these early days in a new babies life when they curl up in a sweet little heap, with their feet tucked under their bum! It starts in the womb and the comfort they find in that position continues for a few months after birth... my new little one seems to like sleeping on her tummy. After wrapping her and putting her on her back for 6 weeks we have switched to her tummy, despite all of the humdrum finger shaking I may get from this decision!
Her sweet dependency, joy in my presence, and the pure unrivaled comfort she feels when close to me, makes me think! From where do I find complete, real and lasting comfort on a daily basis? It's something to think about....
-
The God of All Comfort -Praise be to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of compassion and the God of all comfort, who comforts us in all our troubles, so that we can comfort those in any trouble with the comfort we ourselves have received from God. For just as the sufferings of Christ flow over into our lives, so also through Christ our comfort overflows. If we are distressed, it is for your comfort and salvation; if we are comforted, it is for your comfort, which produces in you patient endurance of the same sufferings we suffer. And our hope for you is firm, because we know that just as you share in our sufferings, so also you share in our comfort.
2 Corinthians 1:3-7

"May I only seek refuge and find comfort in the heavenly arms, the healing Word, and precious love of my savior."

I love baking veggies instead of frying... today we had baked carrots and zucchini! With all of the summer zucchinis it's a way to put them to good use... Slice it, toss it in a little olive oil and salt, bake it for 25 minutes and Voila! A yummy snack that my kiddos don't even realize is healthy!

Summer Days

Classic. The colors of summer. Warm lazy days.
A yummy classic summer day meal, the sweet refreshing flavor of ripe juicy watermelon mixed with the rich, tangy flavor of a hotdog topped with ketchup.
-
Days of our lives fly by. Each one so different. Each one a gift.
Today, I relish amidst, delight in and tuck away yet again, sweet memories... this moment, these tastes of summer.
-
Mommy's little man can't get enough of this tasty fruit!
Fun idea: Carve out the leftover rind and make into a sailboat to float in the pool, in a stream or in the tub. Another marvelous summer activity that will be fun for everyone.

Tennis Boots

-
Mommy's angel was told by daddy to get some shoes on in preparation for a trip to Memaw's house to play with her cousins! A few minutes later she reappeared from her bedroom with her beloved boots on... daddy said sweetly,"Maybe we should find some tennis shoes so you can run and play around outside a little better." Mommy's angel replied," But, these are tennis boots, daddy!"

Even when my baby is crying because a frozen berry smoothie is poured down her front by her brother, not that that happened, I try and remember these sweet times, those calmer waters... and I feel joyful and more at peace.
