From the mouth's of babes...

Mommy's angel says the darndest things! Some of her latest have been, "I have a tummy ache in my head, mommy!" and "my tummy is choking!" She is always very inquisitive and knows quite a few big words but fails to use them in the right way sometimes. Like the other day when she said, " you're freaking me out!" when mommy was tickling her or when she said,"I went to memaw's house yesternight! " and when talking about her recent 4th birthday party she exclaimed,"I had cake last year (which must mean last week to her)!" When a runny nose was bothering her she cried,"Mommy, my nose is blowing!" and after being outside in the snow today she came inside and said with emphasis," I'm freezing my BABY off! (: This morning was too funny when daddy left for work and she asked," Did daddy go get the little girl?" "What girl?" I asked. " The one in the pictures that you we're looking at(ultrasound pics -smile)!" Mommy's angel said. I replied,"No, honey, the baby girl is in my tummy!" "Oh, " she said with a smile,"did you swallow her?" " No," I said trying not to laugh," God put her in there to grow until it's time for her to be born!"
Sometimes it's hard to know how to teach kids and tell them the truth without hurting them or telling them more than they need to know! It's so sweet how they see things so literally and say things as they are in their growing minds. In their naivety, though, they are very impressionable and soak up every word as truth, as if they were a sponge! As we mature, our minds expand and our understanding increases as we come to the conclusion that truth, wisdom and knowledge are found in God's word and only possible with His insight. May we continue to grow up more each day, spiritually and intellectually with Jesus as our example!
My children sure keep a smile on my face and each moment filled to the brim with joy!
No prolonged infancy's among us, please. We'll not tolerate babes in the woods, small children who are an easy mark for impostors. God wants us to grow up, to know the whole truth and tell it in love—like Christ in everything. We take our lead from Christ, who is the source of everything we do. He keeps us in step with each other. His very breath and blood flow through us, nourishing us so that we will grow up healthy in God, robust in love.
